This recent renovation of a Knoll-owned house beautifully reimagines a classic higher-end production home, which had fallen into an overly traditional 80’s style. The original design featured numerous arches, small rooms, and a poorly laid out kitchen. By addressing these design challenges, the project opened up the living areas and relocated ductwork to create a more spacious feel with raised ceilings.
The master bath received a complete makeover, relocating closets, designing an open shower, and smoothing walls for a contemporary finish. The entrance and patio were enhanced, all windows and doors were replaced, and the entire house was stucco’d, providing a fresh exterior look. The remodel also involved installing a large beam to support the open living room, overcoming supply chain issues, and balancing budget constraints while ensuring high-quality results. Attention to detail included leveling an uneven concrete slab, upgrading to high-efficiency electric water heaters, and optimizing insulation for energy efficiency.
The homeowner's vision was at the forefront of this transformation, allowing for confident design choices that truly reflect their taste. From reimagining kitchen layouts to enhancing guest room comfort, this project exemplifies a commitment to creating functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces that stand the test of time.
